Winter Farm ~ linen collage little hill farmWinter Farm was inspired by a place I see on a walk near my home here in County Down. At first glance you might expect the fields look bleak at this time of year but I find there is so much inspitation in the details of the landscape and the muted colours. A collage made from my little lino cuts hand printed on Irish linen. I use different types of linen, some very old, to make my collages. I sew the pieces together by hand using a variety of stitches

This is the practise of moving with your cattle to make the most of summer grazing on the mountainside

When we were children we used to visit an elderly lady who lived on a small farm among the rolling hills of County Down
